  1. 1. The first thing thou must consider is position. If it and thy cards are poor, then to play will make thee poor also.
    2. Thou shall not slow play a high pair or high cards.
    3. Thou must play with patience and discipline. Thou cannot win without an abundance of both.
    4. Thou must always be aware of what constitutes the best possible hand throughout the entire game.
    5. Thou must always bet, call, and raise, in the same manner. Conduct is the most common tell. The movement of thine arm, the speed of thine action, thine expression, attitude, thine entire demeanor paints a picture to the other players. Thou must always act, look, talk, and play, in the same style, winning or losing.
    6. Thou must always play aggressively.
    7. Thou shall never play the 2nd highest pair after the flop.
    8. Thou shall not play with a weak kicker. The kicker is the most important single card in Hold `Em. A weak kicker = a weak hand.
    9. Thou shall not play low cards, suited or unsuited. They are always a big underdog.
    10. Thou must keep an even temperament. Without composure, frustrating circumstances will cause thee to play less than thy best.

Both starting cards should be 10 or better to be playable, there are exceptions to this, but that`s the rule in Limit Hold `Em, The Golden Rule. To violate this rule, loses the gold.

These are for Limit Hold `Em first of all, but also applicable to No Limit.

  2. In response to how to play AK, AQ, & AJ in early position? Limp in if off suit, raise if suited. Check with offsuit if flop misses, call a bet, fold to a raise. If suited and bet and flop misses, and their isn`t two of your suit, check, call a bet hoping for more of suit(if there is one) or a pair, fold to the bet if none of suit on flop, don`t chase big cards, and fold to a raise. If two of your suit on flop “ALL IN!” LOL!(Just Kidding!), but make a sizeable raise to chase the donkey`s outa there. Going for Nut Flush or Top Pair Top Kicker. If the flop doesn`t fit your hand, fold it! Fit or Fold! Never chase 3 card flush`s or straight`s past the flop, unless you are head`s up with a weak sister, or a player from the Pizza Pub! LOL! Kidding! Don`t play unmade hands past the flop, if you don`t want to be playing for the minimum wage. Bonus information about these Ace hands! Fold them to a raise whenever faced with a big bet or ALL IN. You are most likely up against a made hand. You are an underdog and need cards to win. Don`t throw your chips away! Should you pair your Ace or Paint, your opponent can still flop a set to beat you. Pass these costly opportunities by, and save your calling chips to raise with later. Numerous times I have decided to play my overcards, only to lose to a pair when I miss, sometimes costing me a lot, wanting to make the big play. Don`t do it!, unless you`ve got a big stack against “The Hurricane”!
