Here’s one idea which I’m sure almost nobody ever does: One thing which free poker allows you to do is experiment with different strategies totally risk free. Try using each poker night as an experimental opportunity. One night, always raise your suited connectors when you are the first one to enter the pot, at least 3 times the blind. This will teach you how to play these hands from various positions, and will provide a valuable lesson in fold equity. Just remember to play the hand you’re representing as well–usually AK, that’s the hand people will give you credit for most often, so don’t forget to bet when that ace or king pops out! Also, DO NOT tell other people what strategy you are trying out.
