Carrie,
I have no points for my first place (1) tournament at Mock Crest on Sunday 6-21-2009…..look it up please.
You are a great dealer.
Mike Rock
Hello Carrie,
Could you ask Sterling what he knows about Bridgeview Rounders? They have money tournaments on Fri. and Sat. Nites…. 2410 N. Mississippi
They are 3.4 miles from my home….and I need to know if the place is legitimate and safe. Safe would be the key word here. I have heart trouble…and a robbery or an assault would most likely end in my death. I am so use to the security of the casinos in L.A., Hell, they all know me, even some owners, and I am safe from anything there, but this is new, and much smaller waters.
I really love the social aspect of your tournaments. I have met Jimmy the Brick and Ed to play up to 2 hours of cribbage with before the start of the tournaments. I had zero….and I mean no human contact before I found you folks at the U&I….what a wonderful venue to meet people. So lucky, in L.A., in business, I had no friends….but in the Poker World, I have just a few friends, and many acquaintances. Looks like the same thing here, and amazingly, the same atmosphere exists as a cash game, but it is for funzzies…..I am quite surprised at this phenomenon. I hope they are comping you properly….you really pack in the customers…especially the Pizza Parlour venue.
Overall, I have to rate your operation a 10!
The players….100’s of them, and only 2 assholes….that is a really small percentage in the poker World…good job.
Sincerely,
Mike Rock
Dear Carrie,
Mike Rock here; well, I am now officially a published author, and my first book is Poker, Pukes and Prophets. PPP is about public casino poker in Las Vegas, Southern California, and all of the Indian Casinos.
It is a Dark Comedy that I test marketed the first chapter “Murray gets Lucky” on 40 professional poker players and 40 complete non-players. I found the non-players at my favorite breakfast joint, The Normandie Casino in Gardena, CA. There is some poker theory in the book too, but what I have done is capture the true essence and atmosphere of real poker.
You review this……is it okay to give you the ISBN # and where to purchase the book?
If so is yes……
ISBN# 978-1442168589
Poker, Pukes and Prophets
ISBN # at Amazon.com or e-books.com
Book # 3383046 at createspace.com
The book retails at $19.99
Thanks for your consideration
It is under a pseudonym Michael Ma
I of course, would autograph any copy from stumptown players. Hell, I would autograph a Bar Napkin.
Thanks,
Mike Rock
Carroe.
It looks like the Sundown Tournament on Tuesday 9-1-09 was not recorded for any players….
I won, and it was double points night….we had like 20 players…..and the double points really helps my cause.
Can you look into this…Ran ran the tournament.
Sincerely,
Mike Rock
Carrie,
I think you forgot to double my points for Sept 1, tournament at the Sundown……
Mike Rock
Carrie,
Well, it the end of the season, and tomorrow someone will wear the crown. When I wake up in the morning, I am thinking about a slice of Pizza on Thrusday’s at the P-Club. Sunday and Monday, I think about eating other people’s French Fries….ohhhhhhhh…..I am bad. Tuesday, it is something really unique to eat, or a free serving of potato chips from Wydra…..Wednesday is beer and cashews……I hate Friday and Saturdays!
Congratulations on running a good friendly ship.
I cannot believe how nice these young people are to us old farts. The rest of our country should be so nice.
Jaecyn Funk, Simrin, and Travis……you three are good enough to play professionally. I hope you start your own businesses…..and get rich.
Johny Moss died playing $10-$20 limit poker at the Normandie Casino…..my hang out since 1972. He was the best player in the World! Yes, better than Doyle. He lost it all….because he got old….and had no other skills but to stay with poker. Enough said.
I really love all of you players….you have rejuvenated my spirits. Jimmy “The Brick” Leverich….go get’em.
Darcy, you and your boys are in my prayers….you have a great Mother.
Mike Rock
